Church Membership

Why become a member of a local church? Listen to this message below by our Pastor entitled, "The Body of Christ," a biblical look at church membership and the importance of it:

1. Review the Membership Resources

The following membership resources must be completed to begin your membership process:

a. Watch the "Our Story" video: watch here

b. Read "Our Passion" (provided below)

c. Read "Our Leadership Structure" (provided below)

d. Read "What We Teach" (provided below)

e. Write out your testimony of salvation

f. Fill out "My Membership Commitment/Information Form" (provided below)

2. Schedule a Pastoral Meeting and Baptism (if necessary).

Once you complete the above membership resources, contact our Administrative Pastor to schedule a meeting with one of our pastors about membership. During this meeting any questions about our church will be answered, as well as your testimony of salvation shared. If you have not been baptized by immersion in a church of like faith and doctrine, then your baptism will be scheduled for an upcoming Sunday service during this meeting. Also, you will receive information during the meeting about ministry opportunities at Laurel Baptist Church.

3. Attend the New Members Reception and Presentation to Church Family.

The final step for church membership is to be welcomed by our church family at the conclusion of a designated worship service. It is also requested that you attend the quarterly new members reception that takes place on a Sunday night following the worship service as our church family welcomes all those who have most recently joined our church through fellowship and refreshments.
